  • There is no reason to cut these foods out of your diet if you are eating Low Carb, but be aware about the role they play in heart health, weight management, and inflammatory and autoimmune conditions.

6. Fruit

  • Eating fruit is pleasurable but it is not an essential food for us. As you will learn, you can get all your vitamins, minerals, and nutrients from protein and vegetables.

  • Our bodies cannot process fructose and so the liver has to work overtime to metabolize it. A little bit is fine, but beware of the other side of the sweetness.

  • Learn about NAFLD (Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease), something that is becoming more common - even in children.

7. Protein

  • Protein is an essential macronutrient in your Keto journey, or in any eating style you are following.

  • As we get older, we do not process protein as efficiently as when we were younger, so it is very important to make sure you are eating enough, and not going by the allotments you might see on social media and in some other sources.

  • This lesson will explain all about protein, how much you should aim for daily, and how to add it into your meals and snacks so you are getting enough.

8. Fats & Starchy Vegetables

  • The biggest lesson in this module is: DO NOT FEAR FAT. Learn what is meant by “healthy fats” and that the “Diet-Heart Hypothesis” (that has drive us to stop eating fat) is a myth.

  • Go back to enjoying butter on your vegetables, real dressings on your salads, and full-fat delicious cheese and other dairy.

  • Starchy vegetables can be enjoyed if you are eating Low Carb, but within limits. They are eliminated on Keto.

  • In this module also learn about fat adaptation, metabolic flexibility, and resistant starches.
